How it all started...
God’s work in establishing Covenant Community Church began in a small group home Bible study in 1979. The group had actually been meeting for a time prior to that, but they responded to the Holy Spirit’s leading and the church was chartered that year. With about thirty members in attendance, meetings were held in Yukon’s Old Czech Dance Hall. The commitment was to disciplemaking and small group Bible studies, most of which were held in homes. The name Covenant Community Church was chosen to signify the desire to reach and serve the community for Christ.
Expanding the vision...
By 1982, the congregation had grown to 250 members and had moved to its present location. This marked the beginning of a plan to build
facilties that would realize the goal of serving the community. Today this includes a spacious sanctuary, educational buildings, which also serve
Southwest Covenant School, and a growing sports and recreation complex. As much as possible these facilities are open and available to the public.

Where we are headed...
Our desire as leaders and as the people of Covenant is to be a church where we are always in pursuit of a deeper knowledge of God, a growing love for others, and a passion to live out the gospel.
We believe God is calling us to do all three in our local community, the wider Oklahoma City area, and to the nations of the world.
The apostle Paul said, the love of Christ compels us. That’s how we want to see our world and our neighbor. Our knowledge of God spurring us on to love and good deeds so that the good news of the gospel is on display in our lives everyday.
