Carlon has been the senior pastor-teaching pastor at Covenant since 1991. Graduating from Dallas Seminary in 1980, he and his wife Bonnie served in a church in Kansas for 11 years prior to coming to CCC.

Carlon grew up in Nebraska, so naturally he is a fan of the Big Red. Carlon and Bonnie have four grown children: Mary, married to Aaron, lives in Omaha with their four sons, Eli, Micah, Isaac, Silas and daughter, Hope. Aaron is the owner of Cornerstone Remodeling. Ben and his wife Angela live in Yukon. Ben teaches and coaches football at Yukon Middle School, Angela is a hearing impaired interpreter at Yukon Public Schools. They have one son, Josiah and are also foster parents; Andy and his wife Kristin also live in Yukon with their sons Wyatt, Levi, and daughter Josie. Andy is a OKC police officer and Major in the Army Guard, Kristin is also a Major in the Army Guard; Mark and his wife Angel live in Yukon. Mark is an OHP trooper. They have twin daughters, Savannah and Kenzie, and another daughter, Emma.

Carlon enjoys working on and around the house, sports of any kind, a round of golf with his three sons and reading a good book. Bonnie teaches Simply Music, a non-traditional method for teaching piano. She leads the single moms community group on Sunday mornings, and directs the CCC choir for their special programs every Resurrection-Easter Sunday and at Christmas.
